Courses and other teaching activities for teachers in Russia since 2008

Aims:

To improve teachers’ professional skills in teaching human rights and mechanisms for their protection, intercultural understanding.
To offer one-year study program on human rights and methods of teaching for a teacher group from each of four regions. To support the resource group of teachers- trainers in human rights in Russia and local civil society initiatives. To develop and publish the compendium – compilation of interactive teaching methods- for teaching human rights as a part of civics subject in the schools in Russia. To organize conference on “Human rights in civics in Russian schools” in 2017 and launch the compendium. To provide human rights education for law and pedagogy students in Russia.

Activities:

One-year learning programs on human rights in six regions of Russia (Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Saratov, Tambov, Vologda/ Cherepovets, Yekaterinburg), consisting of courses in human rights and methods of teaching, distant learning activities, trainer-for -trainers course, exam, follow-up activities for a resource group).
Human rights education activities for law and pedagogy students.

Youth Centre for Human Rights and Legal Culture (Moscow)
Teacher competence centers in Kaliningrad and Nizhny Novgorod; regional ombudsmen in human rights.

Aims:

To raise awareness about human rights and mechanism of their protection, intercultural communication, and journalism ethics among journalism students in Russia.

Activities:

One-year learning program on human rights for teachers of history and civics in Kaliningrad, consisting of courses in human rights and methods of teaching, distant learning activities, trainer-for -trainers course,exam and follow-up activities.
Courses on human rights, intercultural communication, and journalism ethics in Kaliningrad (Russia) and Volda(Norway).
