The Human Rights Academy was represented at the DARE-network meeting (Democracy and Human Rights Education in Europe) in Nafplio, Greece this week
It was in particular the work with the two year "STEPS"-project that was on the agenda. The aim with the project is to develop a toolkit of methods in human right education to respond on current political trends such as populism, post-truth and radicalisation. Several new innovative methods were presented at the meeting.
It was Eugenia Khoroltseva who was in Nafplio on behalf of the Human Rights Academy.
From 2017 to 2019, 16 DARE member organisations will work on the question how education could respond on current political trends such as populism, post-truth and radicalisation. The DARE members will discuss these issues from an organisational perpective, taking into accounnt the shrinking spaces for civil society, but as well on the level of concrete pedagogical work. At the end of the project will stand a collectively developed toolkit equipping facilitators and educational institutions conducting work with young people in non-formal and partially formal education with inspiration and tools for dealing with post-factualism, populism and radicalisation.
